They are each 6ft long x18".
I am planning on having 4 pigs per hutch.

Sorry that was a bit garbled was just showing someone how to use photobucket!

As it stands I have 2 hutches ready - the top one doesn't have its mesh panels in yet - not brought them out.
There are another 2 levels beneath these top ones which I haven't even painted yet. The lower level where you can see Emily has lino as a flooring with a bit of correx kick board - & the top level has correx entirely as its liner. In the section of the cage where the mesh panel is closed there is a heater made from a biscuit tin & bulb which is on a 12 hour timer. At night I usually put a blanket over this end. In the background you can see the silver bubblewrap insulation lining the shed walls.

How many pigs do you think I could keep in each 6ft hutch? Ideally I would like it to stay as 4 but do you think 5 would be ok?
In the top run i will be putting Willow & Wisp, & MagPie & Elizabeth. Then eventually Little Bear (one of MagPies boars) will be neutered & go in with them.

I have just put Pudding in with Emily MArgalo & Sue. Initially behind a C&C wall but when I went in to the loo they pushed it down! Pudding has been a bit of a cow chattering teeth etc but Emily has shown her authority in the form of I'm twice the size of you calm down! i'm not convinced that it will be a harmonious group in the next couple of days - but at least there will be plenty of space for time out.

That's fantastic :) They're very lucky piggies :D

As for how many piggies you can have in 6ft i have no idea lol but i'm sure someone will be along who does know

Niki :)

Thanks - the structure is what was given to me by a lady who is emigrating. It 1" thick solid wood & weighs an absolute ton! I made the doors & pinched Beks idea for using sliding bolts at the bottom of each panel as a hinge, giving the added bonus of being able to entirely remove the door. You can just see how it works in the 1st pic.
I have now got to find space for a stool to sit on & watch piggy tv.

WOW that looks fantastic Hils its huge plenty of room for all those lovely piggies.

Those are great! I'm so jealous, I got normal cages and just put them on sheleves, though they're inside so I don't know if I could have done that anyway. But if I do have them outside, I will definitely keep your hutch in mind as an idea to pignap!

Thank you for the compliments. Apparantly they are made out of wood from the bottom of an old Artic Trailer, & then just nailed together. I have made them into 6ft (2m ish) runs - before it was divided into 4 tiny compartments :(. I've got the top run sorted out now.
