Here it is (hope fully if I've done it right!)! The new cage! Will it pass tomorrows inspection by the rescue lady? I hope so!

Cross your fingers for me ;)

I have a rubber backed machine washable door mat. If I cut it in half I should be able to make 2 covers for the ramp.

I've washed it today as it was a bit grubby. It can go in tomorrow before inspection ;)

This is fabulous I am hoping to have a go at doing one soon :)

What did you use to line it? Was it correx? Can I ask where you got it from? I am very nervous about cutting it to fit the cage & also a bit worried if piggies chew it & eat it at all? rolleyes

Also how have you made the lid? It looks like some sort of piping it attaches to?

Ooooh brilliant! It's exactly what i have and the lady from the RSPCA was very happy! You'll be fine! Well done and looking forward to seeing your new piggies!

Is it bolted to the table or does it have grid's on the floor, it probably won't be an issue but grid's on the bottom will make it more rigid and if the cage gets knocked off or slides off then the cage will all stay together rather than all collapse, it look's a great cage to me tho

try sitebox, my sis in law used them and they were very cheap

Thanks for all your replies :)

The carpety door mat is dry and atttatched to the ramp now :)

As for the sturdyness of the cage, it's going nowhere!
the front of the unit it is standing on is slightly raised so there is no chance it will slide off. it is also wedged between a unit and a wall.
The correx i used for the large base is very thick (about 1 cm.) It is a shed floor purchased from b&q for a fiver! end of line! It fits quite snuggly into the cage and holds it all very solid.
The top is thin correx which I got from the skip of a builders yard (had to flutter my eyelases lol!) It was used as packaging for something. The pole you can see running through the middle is a thin curtain pole that's been sat in my shed for years! The whole thing is cable tied securely. I have moggies so I needed to put a good lid on.

Glad you like it! 1 hour to go until lady gets here! I'd better get dressed! :))

x

p.s. I have disinfected things I got out of skips! ;)

Looks great, good luck for the inspection. :)
One thing I would say is to make sure you have water available on the lower level incase the new piggies aren't keen to go up the ramp to begin with.

Yay!

I passed the inspection! :<>

The lady was really pleased with my cage :)

I am going to meet a pair of rescue piggies on monday! I wish I could go sooner but taking the boys to legoland for the next 2 days!

The pair are Tango, a 1 year old ginger castrated boar living with Lacey, a young mink and ginger sow. They sound lovely and the lady fostering them says they both have great personalities x)

Fingers crossed these are the ones for me! Monday can't come soon enough!

There is a bottle at the bottom too :) doesn't show up very well in the picture x

Brilliant news! It's so exciting getting new rescue piggies, at least you have your time away to enjoy and distract you before they arrive. :)

BTW, just spotted the bottle on the lower level in you photo. rolleyes:))
