As a newbie on the site I'd thought I'd share some of my babies - past and present with you all. There are rather too many to put the individual photos on here so I've popped the link to my photo album on instead. As new piggies come into the rescue their photos are added so there's nearly always someone new to see.

Goodness, you should have given more warning. So much piggy loveliness. I have to say that I'm completely smitten with Jake and Little Miss Dinky. x)x)

Oh my! That's a surfeit of gorgeousness!

It is always upsetting when you get a piggy in that has been severely neglected, though.

:)) And that's not all of them! :))

Jake was a big favourite of mine, he was neutered and lived with my resident group of girls - what a happy man! He can also be seen in the video at the bottom of my rescue blog.

Little Miss Dinky belonged to a member of the forum so I'm sure she'll share Dinky's story with you - not a happy ending but she had a wonderful life.

Hamish was a very special pig - one of my lifelong residents. He came into the rescue in a flithy state having lived on his own for 3 years in a tiny cage that was one of the dirtiest I'd seen - and he was called Lucky! He moved in with two other lifers - Desmond and Sage - two old boys that took to him straight away. Hamish got his name because his coat looked a bit like tartan, once it had grown back from a horrid fungal infection that saw most of it fall out.

Hamish fell in love with Desmond, deeply in love and would 'love' him everyday - when Desmond would let him that is.

Although I've had a lot of piggies, each one is really special and I feel very lucky to have encountered so many.

Lovely pics! Your avatar pic is brill :)

I love this one! You should (if you don't already!) make a calendar from these pics to sell to raise money! They are beautiful!

Your link back to the pics shows the whole lot - not sure why. Try just posting the number in the address bar and I migt be able to tell you more of their story.

My avatar is a story of mis-sexing - two sisters bought from a pet shop, both pregnant it turned out (not too surprising anymore). The owner very sensibly got the babies sexed at weaning time by a veternary nurse and seperated boys from girls - one was wrong and of course it was a boy in with all the girls. So mum, aunt, sister and cousins all got pregnant.

I had the first batch of 11 babies from these litters. The owner sexed all these babies herself, correctly this time and as the last to give birth was one of her favourites she decided to keep her as well as the two original females. She sexed this last litter and all was well until the nan, great aunt, mum and 2 sisters got pregnant again - she'd got one wrong this time!

By this time she had convinced herself she was jinxed and that GPs weren't a good idea anymore so they all came in to me. All in all there were 19 GPs in this batch

My pic shows one of the original sisters, her three daughters and a 'spare' single baby that was bonded with the family and they all got rehomed together.

Just goes to show what can happen when good intentions aren't paired with good eyesight!

Although I've just spotted Bilbo, how cute is he?!?!?! And Miranda... And Abigial, Tabitha and Gabrielle.... Oh it is a good job I don't live near to you............

I also rather like your blue and white chair as well.

These are the Cheeky girls, they weren't with me for very long but they were great fun! No sad story, just a change in the family's circumstances meant they felt they couldn't give the girls the home they needed and they very quickly found a new one.

Arghhh no! I've been there, that's how my bubs were born. Although mine were meant to be two girls from a petshop but were a mixed pair. I didn't realise and Sasha got pregnant by Mabelle after coming here. We kept all the babies though. I assume there is every chance that the other sows in the pet shop at the time were pregnant as Mabelle was in the pen with them. It almost happened to me again when we mis-sexed one of the babies, but luckily we noticed in time. Unfortunately it is easily done and can quickly get out of control.

oh wow! Annabelle is beautiful!
Annabelle came in with her two sisters, Ava and Trillion. Trills was not happy living with the other two and was rehomed as a companion to a lonely female. Annabel was rehomed together with Ava. They were very fat, happy girls.

hiya suzy,
just wondering if your bread the guinea's?,ive got 2 boys at the mo and would love to start breading them,do you keep them all in your house out outside?
thanks x

Breed? Absolutely not! I've run a rescue since '03 and have taken in nearly 700 pigs, so believe me I would never add to those numbers by making more. I've seen more than my fair share of disastrous pregnancies from girls coming in already pregnant to never inflict it on purpose. I would never encourage anyone to breed - ever. Sorry if I sound harsh but there are so many in need of good homes why make more and deny a pig in need a good home?

no that doesnt sound harsh at all, fair play to you taking in so many, and i guess seeing so many without a home first hand makes you believe in re-homing the ones who need it rather than breeding them,
we absolutley love having our boys and would love more,we will defo look in to rehoming rather than breeding,
how many do you have with you now?

Oh my talk about cute overload! Such gorgeous piggies! x) drool
