Thankyou.
I haven't used an electric machine since I was at school and my main memory is of sewing through my finger. I have my grandma's hand singer machine here and am still trying to cope with the shuttle bobbin in that. Good job there are instructions for such things. :)

Hehe we used to have a old hand sewing machine(singer!) before we got this one but i used to prefer hand sewing i could get a cosie sewn up in half an hour by hand :) But now with the electric machine they're so quick, a bit scarey at first but once you get into the swing of things they're a doddle. :)

I am still scared of my machine. I started my sewing life with a hand winded one, only did straight stitch and not very well, wasnt a singer, was a cheaper version from a friend of the family. I then got a second hand one from my boss (pub landlady boss when I was working in the pub) but I couldnt get the tension right in the ruddy thing and as I wanted to make coats for lurchers to sell and collars I needed a machine that worked and well.

I have a Janome DM2000, bargain christmas present two years ago at half price (was £200 before the sale), and its a mean machine - does a lot of the heavy work I have asked of it but I am so paranoid about the needle snapping and flying in my eye or doing what grandad did during the war - he lost two parts of his fingers in a sewing machine accident - those were the really mean machines of course not my little one.

Problem is I can do two hours of sewing on it then I have to stop as I cant sew for long rolleyes

Ooo put a notice thread on here when your websites up and running and ill take a looksie! :)

Btw if you dont mind me asking what website host are you using? I want to have a website for my cosies.....:))

OOOo! I cant wait for pigtures of yours too, it'll be lovely to see everyones creations.

:...Pigtures...?/ Can I borrow some of yours and pass them off as mine please ;) Didn't know Tesco did them so will have a browse - want to do something nice for the piggies summer houses without spending £££'s so this seems the perfect time now to give it a bash and have a new hobby :))

Oooo! What a fab find :) I love second hand stuff!
Hehe well i'd like to do two hours sewing but usually i have cosie orders coming out of my ears so i just sew and sew and sew sometimes for eight or nine hours. By which point i cant sew in a straight line haha!

I've only used the thing once as I prefer hand sewing. I've made loads of things for my pigs and for the rescue to sell but it does take a long time by hand and I did end up with RSI in my elbow at one point. :))

Right, I'm looking for tags. Like a clothes tags?
I'm not sure what you'd call them? That you can sew on to something to show who it's made by?
Anyone know where I can get these from?
(Sorry for not knowing what I'm actually on about haha!)xo
