I have been thinking about setting up another branch to my guinea hotel of guinea grooming,")

I was going to use GG products, as alot of the guineas i have come through my doors to stay with me, need nails cut and some of the boars could do with a good clean,

if you where going away and you put your pigs into a hotel would you pay to have them cleaned and nails trimmed? :Ayociexp113:

well so many of my customers ask me to clip the pigs nails, and when you hold them to do it, as i normal do it on drop off, they feel greasy if you know what i mean, and nearly all the customers who come through the door are like this?

I think people would really appreciate that additional service - and it saves taking the piggies to the vets to get their nails clipped. I know that I'm not overly confident at doing it myself - although I do, but I don't really like doing it.

I think it's a fab idea after just bathing 3 of mine I would happily pay for them to hate someone else hahaha. xx

Alot of owners don't like the thought of clipping piggies toenails or bathing them and it is costly to ask the vet to clip toenails.

I think it is a great idea that you have!

I would bring my Piggy's! Betty loves having a bath, that a brilliant idea you have copyright it quick! good luck vibes

I would happily pay anyone to bathe and groom Prince Harry he goes from a gentle loving guinea pig to a fiesty fighting demon, you would need danger money!mallethead

I think i might just do this then,

I will get on to GGs if she is still open that is

why wouldnt she be open?? I need to get more bits and pieces from her actually :))

I think it is a top idea. It is something Peter and I have talked about for around here. It's something to think about anyway. :)

It's Pampered Piggies who have closed for a wee while. Chrissie is still open as normal. x

I think I would consider it if I wasn't happy about bathing or clipping myself - having 8 boars we are used to smelly boys, however if I hadn't thought about it myself, ie being a new or inexperienced owner, I would likely be interested I reckon.

Deffo would, I like my piggies pampered and you're the expert from the sounds of it! x

I woud also like to learn to do Impacted boars so hopefully people will have yet another place to turn to other than the vets, where they can bring there babe to be sorted, it might stop some owners destroying there animal because it is becoming hard work,

I have never sorted an impacted boar out before so i have alot to learn if i am to offer this service, well i have alot to learan fallstop, its no good saying yes i can do this, I know i can do it with my own pigs but someone elses requires confidence if you know what i mean,

I will also have to sort out plumbing to the garage and make up a warm room in there, as i am not sure i want to be bathing the pigs in my kitchen sink:))

Fab idea, I orginally saw Milliekitten's website first.

I recently suggested this to my boss. At the end of my Dog grooming day I would get in pigs and rabbits for general clean ups like Nails clipped, bums washed, if long haired a trim etc. She said she will have to think about it, lol! We do have guineas and rabbits that come in for their nails clipped anyway, we charge £5 which is nothing compaired to some of the vet prices.

Its a great idea, OH was saying the other day that there are a few pet grooming businesses for dogs and cats round abouts but none for piggies. Having a long-haired piglet (Tiger) who hates getting his hair brushed, it would be nice to take him to have it done properly!

It is a service we offer too, most people are delighted to leave their piggies for their hols in the knowledge that they will come back to clean, pleasant smelling little bodies!:)

I tend to offer guests a discount for a pampering session, all non staying visitors pay a slightly higher premium because I have to set aside a firm time to tackle the piggies. I also use GG products and remember, if you are offering melts etc., as well these plus shampooing take a little longer. If it's a lice problem a second shampoo will be needed a week later.

As far as impaction goes PB I have found that with all the boars I have had to deal with it is an ongoing problem i.e. sometimes daily, sometimes twice daily, sometimes once every couple of days etc. You could certainly do the business when the piggy came to you for bathing etc., but the owner would definitely need to be shown how to do it themselves in my opinion.

Hi,
I do G.pig grooming as part of my business, its great fun and makes a nice change from the dogs. When I was researching it i noticed a few pig and rabbit borders offered it as a service so maybe google it and 'steal' some ideas. Have a look at my website www.squeakypigs.co.uk and click grooming
