So here it is very nearly finished.....just some one or two finishing things left to do!

And even more exciting news...... We've been approved by Milhaven rescue and are going to look at 2 gorgeous boys on Tuesday!... They won't be coming home until Oct as we have 2 nights away in Oct and i didn't think it was fair to bring them home then expect the neighbour to look after them.....I'd rather they just settled with us properly :)

I am sooooo excited!! :)

Looks fantastic! Lots of space for the piggwigs to run about and do pig stuff :)):))

Can I suggest you put another hole to the bedroom so one can't guard the hole and they can't corner each other This hutch is fab They are lucky piggies

It looks brilliant.

The hole thing is a good idea a more dominant one does sometimes sit by the hole. Can you do that now it's in place though?

Not that easy to do now it's in place...just been asking hubby about it!..... we were planning on getting a hidey hole for the opposite end so hopefully that should even things out!?
There is a big age difference in the boys as well.....one is only a wee baby and the other is 18 months. They've been bonded in rescue and apparently adore each other :)

Could you not drill then use a jigsaw It wouldn't need to be ground level you coul put in a ramp and the they can hide under it or climb over it More exercise as well I have a hamster cage base as a litter tray and rabbit fiddlesticks as a ramp and my girls love it Mine in c&c a in spare room

You could actually get a drill with an attachment on to make a big enough hole for a piggie and just sand the edges to smooth them out. ;)

The idea of a hidey outside the bedroom worries me in winter cos if he can't get in bedroom will not keep him warm enough

To be honest, you will not know until your boys are home whether there will be any problems concerning the bedroom. chances are there probably won't be if they are an already bonded pair.

If there was a problem, you could address the situation then.

If you are worried about them in the winter, cardboard is a great insulator and cardboard boxes stuffed with hay are a great idea. My piggies live free range in a shed and I do this for them. You could also put an snugglesafe heat pad in a hide outside the bedroom.

But until your boys are home, you shouldn't worry as chances are there will not be any problems.

A good idea about providing two of everything though.

Thank you for that....that's made me feel lots better xx

My hutch is over 2 levels with only 1 door into each of the 2 night compartments. My 3 are always playing musical bedrooms depending on who's in a anti-social mood! :))

Aww you are lucky they sound like they get on anyway.

I thought it would be difficult but to be honest you could just wait and see anyway rather than causing work for yourself. ;);)
