Pig Is Really Ill!

Oh that's really sad news. You did everything you could for him. Huge hugs to you. No matter what you try, sometimes they can't be nursed back to health. x

I am so sorry :( your boy was obviously just too sick to fight, i hope u can take comfort from knowing u did everything you could for him, checking on his pain relief etc. you did your best and thats all we can ever do x
 
I'm heartbroken. I loved him so much! Thank you all for your kind words, really helps x
 
What is the next step? We currently don't have an indoor cage so buddy is outside. I don't know what to do now. I do not want to replace Chico at all and no pig ever will, but I am thinking for buddy as to what is best for him. Any advice
 
Oh I am so sorry hun :( He was obviously a very poorly boy, even if he had the op he might not have made it, as it is a very big op for a little piggy. I hope you are ok xx

If you can find a reputable rescue (Look on our Rescue list) you could take your remaining boy boar dating & he could choose a friend, which would give you the greatest chance of a happy pairing & also one of a similar age maybe? x

Thank you, he seemed fine this morning but it was about two hours later when he passed. I can't stop crying! Would it be better to boar date/ try and find a male pig for him or try and get some spayed girls? x
 
Spayed girls are not very common, so it may be easier to see if he could bond with another boar.
I wish I could send you a hug, when they go it can hit so hard.... xx
 
if you have the room you can pick up cages cheap on ebay or go c&c. I second rescue to bond him with another male. I know its hard having to take on another piggy when you are grieving for chico. I had to do it with one of my girls as she started to go downhill when she lost her friend but now love my new girl to bits. She has major sentimental value too.I still miss my fizzy pop ( the girl in my avatar) she was a very special piggy. Huge hugs hun
