Question for you... ?/ got my Alfie from a rescue and the lady told me he was about 12 months old and that he was an unwanted child's pet (he was terrified to begin with too!). However, when asked the ages of the other guinea pigs, with the exception of one who was a little bit smaller and 'about 9 months', she said they were all 'about 12 months'.
Is it possible to estimate the age of an adult guinea pig...or was she just guessing? I've had sows in the past and there didn't seem to be much difference between them at 12 months and older.
