Spot the pigs! I have five, and here they all are enjoying the grass.

Excuse Pearl's pink ears. I took this pic just before I put sunblock on them.

They look like they are enjoying the sunshine ..... my piggies are out too xoxo

Hi, yes, I put an organic sunblock on them otherwise they turn bright pink and then burn terribly.

Ah, the hideaway is great! the roof has felt on it and the wooden floor is raised off the ground and is also removable to make for easy cleaning. I got it locally, but the make is Lazybones, so you should be able to find it on the internet. It was £23.

Lovely setup, and happy piggies!

Hairless breeds (Skinny Pig, Baldwin) also need sunblock to protect their skin, it only makes sense to protect the bald bits of hairy pigs! :))

Aww! They look like they are having a fab time, As everyone else has said you have a fab run there. x)

Ah yes, they love that run. It's nice and big at 6ft x 4ft. I call them my 'little mowers' and I just rotate them on the grass in place of a lawnmower! Some sections of the lawn have weeds though, so my grass looks bald in patches and then wild in other places!

After reading your thread yesterday I decided to put some sun block on Disney and Paris today ... my son has ezcema and I use something called Bergaderm on him so I have used this on the piggies .... I figured it was better then nothing :)

So thanks for bringing this up. :)

Excellent! It's a little trick I picked up when Pearly Worley got her ears burnt for the first time. Fuzzypeg gets the same treatment.

Nice to see how they are enjoying themselves. I will also post pigtures of my piggies on the balcony now.

Thats a lovely run and hidey house, off to look that up too :))

I love your chubby healthy looking pigs x

If you google 'Lazybones small animal hideout' you'll find it.

It's by far and away the best hidout I have ever had because it's on legs but the ramp isn't steep at all. It's really very well made; even my brother was impressed with the quality and he's normally not very interested in the pigs! Best of all, the floor is slatted and removable so it's really easy to clean. It's roomy in there too and has a nice felt roof which gently slopes backwards. It's really very well designed.

I've got two. And I'm toying with the idea of buying a third!

hi i was wondering what sunscreen you put on them? (brand?)
I'm moving to a house with a garden this year because i havnt been able to let my pigs outside for all their lives (1 year and half) cos i dont have a garden.
and dont want their ears to burn this summer!
do they not lick it off each other ears?

I used my sons called Bergaderm, they weren't bothered by it at all ..... :(|):(|)

I'm using up an organic sunblock by Liz Earle. Can't even think where I got it. I'm sure any block would do the trick though. I don't think I'll be especially fussy when I buy my next bottle. They don't lick it off. Well, mine certainly don't!

I use Liz Earle face cream ..... its fab and come to think of it I have some of her sunblock, its all natural ingredients and not tested on animals.

I use Avon sun cream for my piggies ears - the one that is purple when you put it on :) They look a little odd before it soaks in but at least I can make sure I haven't missed any bits :)):))
