ive been treating my piggies for a fungal infection which i think has cleared up but they are still scratching and now ginger has lost a lot of fur on his back and if i touch his back at all he squeals and starts jumping around, he has some scabs aswell and my other piggie has lost some fur on his nose.
i dont think its a fungal infection as it looks different to what he had a few weeks ago, what could it be? :{ ill try get some pics later on

OO er, not sure, i think a trip to the vets is in order. Sounds like he is in pain bless him, could you cut a sock up with leg holes etc to act as a bandage to stop him scratching it?

My piggie behaved like that when she had mites! I read that piggies can carry mites for a long time unnoticed, and then a stress of some kind (in your case the fungal infection) can trigger an out break, and the fungal treatment won't have had any affect on the mites, so possibly it's consult the vet time. If it is mites, its not hard to treat, so don't worry, my piggie needed a skin scrape to confirm the mites and some ivermectin to clear them up, and she never looked back.

Please have your piggies checked by a vet for mites; make sure that you get the right treatment for their problem.

The earliest i can get them to vets is tues is there anything i can do for them in the meantime ? I feel really bad but their not off their food or anything :(

Emergency vet or a different vet?

Its hard to tell you what you can do until you have a proper diagnosis, we might be able to help if you can post a picture.

Unless you know what it is you cant do anything except maybe use ivermectin, but i would get a vet to check first. How come you cant go until Tuesday? i guess its the Easter weekend?

We had lots of issues with fungals - my vets kept treating for fungal as despite scrapes there were no mites.

However, as a last resort we decided that they must have mites and we used Ivermectin and my piggies (especially Lord Bernie xx>>> ) just stopped scratching after a few days treatment and his locks are now just beautiful! Something so simple after 6 months of problems.

Sometimes mites don't show up but as a previous poster said the fungals can trigger an outbreak. I would see a vet if you have a good one otherwise go for the ivermectin.
