Happened about an hour ago, maybe 1.15.

We were just in the process of cleaning him out and stuck him on the kitchen lino as per normal and all was fine.

We put him back into his crib and he went under his little dome and sat on his hay, the wife was vaccing up all the bits on the floor when i noticed him kicking his legs out and struggling to move.

We took him out of his crib and saw he couldnt move his back legs, which we thought was due to a previous problem, so we quickly gave him some osteocare to get the ball rolling.

Whilst we were giving him the osteocare we noticed his eyes were flicking back and forward quite rapidly and he was turning in circles and seemed that his full left hand side had stopped working. the eyes scared us very much.
We checked on here and another site and saw all the signs pointed to a stroke and we took the advice and left him on his own to recover for a while.

While he was in his crib we took everything out and left him to have some quiet time.
He just laid on his left hand side eyes still flicking and sometimes moved his head into the air.
He tried to move himself by using his right hand side against the side of the crib and ended up in the middle of his crib.

Then all of a sudden he started to get back to his feet, a bit shakily but he stood up, he was dragging his left hand side a little bit as he was taking his first steps but he got the hang of how to walk, he started looking up near his food so i thought id offer him a tomato to see if he was interested......
Very surprised when he took it off me and scoffed the lot!

I thought id pop another in to see if he wanted some more and he ate that quite happily also! As if nothing was wrong with him!

We have offered him a drink but he doesnt fancy one (i guess the tomato has a bit of juice for him)

And currently he is hopping about his house getting back to normal.

Fingers crossed he will be ok.

Oh no, I bet that was terrifying! I hope he continues to improve.

It is possible he had a "mini stroke" (TIA) as opposed to a full blown stroke (CVA). I know he's a piggy, and not a human, but I've seen people come into A&E with stroke symptoms (slurred speech, drooping of face, one sided weakness etc), and it completely resolves within a few hours. It does show that he has some health issues, though...the mini stroke should be seen as a warning...

Wow, that's amazing. Nothing stops superpiggy!

Glad he seems to be OK. Must have been really scary...:...:...

yeah it was too scary actually, i really did think we were gonna lose him. Ive just left him in his crib to recover atm, he has had 3 cherry tomatoes and some hay and some water out of my hand and he has happily licked it off my fingers. I guess the next 24 hours are gonna be crucial but all the signs look like he will be ok. Me and my hubby steve love our patches soooo much, i cant bear it when he is sick.

Thanks for all the kind messages :)
