Hello, what does it mean if my male (about 1 month old) guinea pig sounds like he's "purring" but his body shakes/tremors when he "purrs"? Is it purring? Also, how do you tell the difference between happy squeaks and annoyed squeaks? What sound will a guinea pig make if it is in pain?

Hello. My boys do it sometimes if they hear something they are not sure of. But then they also do it when I stroke them all the way down their backs to their bottoms. Maybe see when tours do it and see if you can decide what they are feeling at the time.

All noises are contextual. You have to look at the context of what they are doing when they make the sound. If. he purrs or rumbles when you rub all down his back, then he is telling you he doesn’t like it.
