Just been doing some grooming today for my 6 piggies and noticed on one of the girls (Clara) that one of her nails was bending out sideways, not the same way normal nails grow. I trimmed her nails, including this one as much as I could but it looks thicker than the others, almost brittle. She is absolutely fine but I wondered if it could either just be a damaged nail or fungal? I could have trimmed further but I didn't want to hurt her. Has anyone come across this before?

Thanks!

Hmm I’m not sure. One of the boys had nails that curl outwards if they get too long, and they both have pretty thick ones compared to the girls. I think the latter comes with age...the older they get.

Do you have a picture of them?

Hmm, I'll try to get one when I next do it-it didn't look too long more like she'd injured previously or perhaps just a dodgy nail which I have to handle more carefully. Grooming all 6 yesterday wasn't a quick exercise as one needed a haircut too but I got there in the end. I think I'll rotate in future and I definately need better nail clippers! ✂️😁
