Hi , I apologise as I'm sure this has been asked many times but I'm new to the forum and collect our 2 rescue piggies on Monday ( woohoo ! )
My question is , What is the best outdoor run ?
The Internet is full of them , but you can never be sure of quality , so I'm looking for recommendations :-)
I need a strong , fox proof ( live rurally where foxes and badgers are both common ) run , made of heavy weight good quality wood and wire . I do love the Eglu one but unfortunately put off by the price ! If the Eglu one is fantastic I may stretch but I think my husband may collapse if he knew the price ( ha ha )
Look forward to hearing from you , and I'll post my piggies pics on Monday once we get them :-)

Hi Welcome to forum,

Sorry we can't help on the run as we don't have any problems regarding wildlife in our garden and our run time is supervised at all times..x

I have one of these:

I have found it to be really good quality and secure. I have had birds picked off the lawn by a bird of prey (possibly a sparrow hawk) so am very careful about leaving the piggies out. This run is perfect to leave them in while I carry on housework etc. Obviously check on them very regularly and do not leave them in run if I am not in the house but this run means I don't have to stay with them all the time.

Our guineas have a chicken run and they love having the freedom of running around, eating grass but we only
let them out whilst we are there because of the predators x

There is someone on Facebook who makes fantastic runs, I'll look it up and post for you - could be pricey but if it's safety...
Agree with the others though about foxes etc. They will break into the most secure of runs so never leave them unsupervised or overnight however hot is is :(
I keep my piggies indoors 24/7 despite having paid £££'s for runs, just cannot bring myself to do it as it's either too hot, too cool, is the grass safe ? I'm just paranoid...they prefer their slave to pick dandelions and cut grass for them anyway :x ;)
I'll find the link for you - he's very good :)

Hi , thanks for replies :-) . I'm sorry I didn't make myself clear , the run is only for daytime use in fair weather and also when someone is home . At other times they will be hutched and in winter move into the summer house . I kept guinea pigs for years when I was younger and they were always out on the grass in good weather ( they used to run round jumping in excitement when out :-). ) I can't imagine the piggies never being out which is why I was asking for outdoor run recommendations . I would never put my piggies at risk of predators !
