Hi all,

I am looking to try the pellets again. I tired while back when they first came out after Versele laga was so much harder to buy post Brexit and had a huge price increase. But, none of my guys ate it. We preserved for months and they always left them in the bowl and ate the Versele Laga. Then I even tried stopping the VL and only give PP and they basically said they would rather starve. They stopped wheeking for breakfast time cause they knew they're not getting the VL pellets!
I was on VL for over a decade so I thought I just don't have the herd that appreciates the healthy option and is not willing to switch.

I have decided to give them a try again, seeing they have two new flavours and having some new residents. So ordered some from each. Do you find piggies are more likely to eat the new flavours compared to original? Has anyone tried mixing the joint and bladder and the immunity one together? Or is the immunity one recovery only?

In regards to the immune boost, can you mush it for syringe feed? Not sure if they are the right consistency/grain size. Just looking for back ups for in case we're not keen on CC.

Really hope the gang will like them cause the seller I used to buy VL from has been very unpredictable and keeps cancelling orders after not shifting for days only to then increase prices. Tried re-ordering and they cancelled it on Amazon, then increased price. Bought it from same seller on eBay and they didn't ship, so after a week I requested refund!

Hope you find that your new herd members do like the Piggie Parcels pellets 🤞
If they don't, I used to buy Versele Laga pellets from the Hay Experts, who are reliable delivery-wise. They are still shown on their website, as you say quite expensive, but if you use them as a treat for hand feeding they last longer I found.

Hay Experts had VL last week, they go out of stock very quickly though. HE are restricting orders to 2 bags per customer. 7 year old Brillo will only eat them, most of my other's aren't fussy and eat what they are given except the Piggie Parcels ones which were a big no, I think they are too small!

Thanks for the heads up about Hay experts. Very cheap, for £8 a bag? I get it for about £12-15. No wonder they run out. Did you ever buy the 8kg? Is it definitely the cavia one? I once bought it on Zooplus and when it arrived it was some weird bag that was suitable for bunnies and piggies. Not what I wanted, so stayed away from 8kg bags.

I have bought the 8kg bag in the past but I've not seen it available for ages. My VL from hay experts arrived Monday and definitely the Cavia Complete, not sure what I paid now. The 8kg bags have rabbit, piggy and an other (degu?) pictures, they are a universal use sack but contain the right food for the right animal, hope that makes sense. I had a heart stopping moment the first time I opened a delivery with 8kg sack in and saw the pictures. I sometimes get VL on the Time for Paws website, they are cheaper but have been out of stock for ages.
I have 9 piggies so get through more than the average amount of pellets so I don't feed only one brand at a time to try to avoid the situation where they don't want the 'new' one. I am finding all the brands are going up in price a lot and are often out of stock. We have a Range and a Pets at Home near by and both of them have had gaps on the shelves for months. Brillo has got very fussy in his old age, this started when I added Science Selective's new Botanicals pellets in the mix (£6.30 in P@H at moment), all the other's love them but Brillo decided if his spoon full of pellets has those in he's not touching any! Normally I would just say suit yourself and go without but he has lost some weight recently and I need to keep him eating whatever he will eat.

The VL you need the Cavia Complete. I think the other one doesn't have good ingredients and is for rabbits as well?

Sounds like a very similar experience with the 8kg bag. I was also told it's definitely cavia complete but what threw me off, other than the packaging, is the pellets looked different size. I have encountered this since when they either look bigger or smaller. But because it was the weird bag and different size pellets I just avoided it since.
Let's hope they eat it. I only have one of the same piggie who tried the previous PP pellets. He's 5yrs old, so better eat his joint supplement pellets!

The pellets seem to have changed size and colour a few times in the last 2 years. It's thrown my piggies as well, sometimes they treat them as if they are something new and are suspicious for a few days.

Pigs sure don't like us to mess with their food! One of my long haired will literally do little princess huff and walk off if I do not give her what she wants.

Will update once I receive my parcel..should be here Monday, so will see how picky this group is!

We use Piggie parcels, normally the urinary but also the immunity occasionally. Ours seems to enjoy them, particularly the younguns! We needed a tiny pellet for them as Fuzzy is a lethal so these were ideal.

So first day and they all tried them. The oldest boy seems to be the most reluctant, he's the one that was in my group when I tried them couple of years ago. And another girl is also more fussy. But the other 3 ate them.
Now, do you mix the urinary and immunity and original? Can they be on the immunity and urinary long term?
