I was wondering if anyone else has a diary/planner that they use for their pigs to track weight, health, cage cleaning, foods they like and dislike etc. Or am I just super OCD? Haha! I’ve got a planner I use for myself on a daily basis, but I’ve set up one just for my piggies too

I use Google sheets for monitoring weight cos I can access it anytime any place from my phone so if I go to the vets I can show weight trends etc.

I’ve got foods they like/don’t like because Frodo can be a fussy little pig at times. I like to see what I’ve tried before that he hasn’t liked so I can try it again at some point and see if he’s changed his mind. Loki will literally eat everything, I’m get to find something he doesn’t like haha!

I’d never thought of doing it that way. It’s a good idea so that it can be accessed all the time from anywhere. I’m a pen and paper kinda girl at heart tho

We have a "piggy almanac" notebook and record weights and vet trips and meds and which of the girls is in season, and if they are ill how much critical care they eat vs how many poops and things like that :)

Yea I used to write it on paper but then always forgot to take it to the vets with me lol

I have a weekly veggie planner on my phone so i can see what they've had over the last few days so i don't give them the same veg as a few days ago and also it's great for referring to for my shopping list. Gotta make sure I get what's on the piggy menu!

I do. Foi weight, vet visits and whatever I find worth of notice.

I do for weights and stuff. If I am syringe feeding how often and how much they have taken. I don't record vet visits or meds in it though.

Since my last two guinea pigs died I have been recording my new guinea pig's weight and the days when she eats normally. If she doesn't seem to be eating the things she loves then I would mark that down as a warning that she might be catching something. In addition, I do have a planner that I record when I clean her cage, refill water etc... I have found this to be super helpful and kind of fun to do. :)

Kinda similar to what I do. I love planning (but sad I know haha!) I like to keep notes of what foods/hay they like, their weights, if I’ve had to treat them for anything like lice etc, what days they’ve been in the run/on the grass etc, when I’ve done full cleans of the cage, shopping list of stuff I need to buy for them. Just keeps me organised because working nights half of the time I forget my own name never mind anything else! 😂

Yep! I record their weights and food preferences. Could come in handy if anyone else had to look after them for whatever reason. I also write down any useful tips and facts about piggies too. Perhaps its a bit sad!

Kind of. I keep a spreadsheet of their weekly weights (or daily if they drop significantly), veggie lists, hay - where from, how much, how long it lasts and vet visits. I might pinch @Lady Kelly's idea of using Google sheets though - hadn't thought of that.
