Hi all, as some of you know i have a purpose built, half height piggies shed. Well, the hutch the two boys are in isnt that big.

*goes off too measure*

Which is 3ft x 18in- I know, way too small for two piggies. But at the mo they are really small and it is ample space until i have the money (a couple of weeks) to transform it into the BEST hutch ever lol.

Anyway, as they are in the shed, the hutch is raised about 2.5ft of the ground. I could just put the piggies onto the floor of the shed and put in a cat carrier so that they can go in to hide and sleep. The floor of the shed is paving slabs. Should i put them onto the floor or just leave them until i can transorm there hutch?

I dont see the harm in putting them into the shed... it will be a tonn more toom for them... but because it is concrete... it will most likley absorb the pee... so I suggest putting newspaper down for them :)

Sounds fab what your doing! good luck!

lino would be good with newspaper on top, but if it's only temporary then newspaper will do fine x

You could leave a door open on the hutch and build a run for them to give them more space to play ;) they shut them in the hutch at night ;)

Is there anyway that you can put their hutch on the ground, leave a door open or cut some wire out and then you can make a huge area for them to run in? I'm sure you could find some way to vamp it up for them for now .. definately put some lino down and then some bedding, that will help with cleaning, make it easier for you and more comfortable for them ...

Would love to see some pics of what you decide to do :D

I started today......

I have made, underneath the hutch, a new hutch. Just wire and no wood. No bed bit, just a wooden box. Ill post piccies when done as i couldnt stay out there, as i had to keep coming out to get things, and its RAINING :(
