Recently adopted a little pig and it seem's he refuses to eat treats, the closest thing to a treat i've got him to eat, is Burgess Excel mountain herb stuff, i've tried these veggie biscuits, but he won't eat them either, i've tried putting treats in his nugget bowl but it seems he either ignores it or pulls it out and puts it to one side,
is anyone else's pig like this ?
any treats i should try ?

Personally, I don't feed my pigs any treats, simply because most are full of unnecessary sugars (except the dried herby types), and it's just something they don't need in their diet.

If I want to treat mine, I give them a different kind of hay (they LOVE the oxbow orchard grass and the oat hay), or a bit of fruit, as they rarely get fruit!

Burns also do dried herby things - they are also good at giving out free samples ;)

Give it time - it's all new to him. The only treats that I give are special hay or herbal mixes, and not all my piggies like everything.

i dont give mine shop bought treats either, instead their treats are loads of fresh veggies.

Mine go mad for:

Cucumber chunks
carrot tops
Fresh Corriander
Red pepper
Apple chunks

Have you tried and of these? If not just start with one thing and just give a little to make sure it doesn't upset your piggies tums, once you know they are ok with it you can try something else too...

Good luck
