I've been considering growing some indoor grass for my piggies. I read that it's good for them, but can cause the piggie to get parasites? Any info of fresh grass and pigs would be appreciated!

Provided you grow the grass yourself (ie don’t take it from outside), there shouldn’t be any parasite risks.
Cat grasses are good for this, such as oat grass and wheatgrass. I got my seeds from an online wellness store but you can typically find growing kits sold for cats in pet stores. You can also find full grown pots near the checkout (at least where I am), which work too.

Our piggies spend most of the summer days in runs, in the garden and none of them have ever had issues with parasites. Grass is grown for them during the winter months, when they can't get outside. I've also noticed that none of our guinea pigs have bladder issues (stones or infections) and I truly believe their diet plays a big part in this!

Timothy and orchard grass should make up the vast majority of your cavy’s diet (about 80%). These are actually hays despite the naming. This is an absolute requirement, while fresh grasses are a nice bonus that can be lumped in with veggies :)

for clarity sake in case this thread comes up on any internet search in the future, any grass hay, not just Timothy or orchard, need to be the basis of the diet
