Piggies and Music?

Sorry if i didn't put this quite in the right area... i wasn't sure, i thought this would be the best place.

So my piggies are going to be in the main living area, i live in an apartment and the main area is kitchen/lounge/dining area, and we have our pc's there. The main question i wanted to ask was how to piggies cope with music? we often play a lot of music from the pc when cooking etc, i am going to keep it down when we first get my pigs in a few weeks but they will get used to it like most noises right? They enjoy being involved in the busy rooms of the house. It is quite a large area, it's not a tiny apartment by any means, and they will be on the opposite wall to the kitchen/pc's.

Good question.

It depends, our piggies are okay with most stuff, some frequencies annoy them though the same as some things like jangling keys or the telephone ringing so I am always mindful and will just keep an eye out. I was listening to a Pulp album the other day and that didn't go down to well during a song :)) It was a bit shrill and Cookie doesn't like shrill sounds lol

Often I will play music very loud (as god intended) and they have no issue with it...

Oh and please don't play them or anyone for that matter any One Direction it really isn't fair :)
 
I think it is important not to play music loud as they have very sensitive ears. Amina likes boy band music and Amelia Jane likes many rivers to cross.
 
Oh don't worry, i won't be putting anything through the torture of listening to anything like one direction...

I will see how my piggies get on, i will keep it down, it's isn't that loud really but sometimes my boyfriend gets a bit carried away. i don't want to scare my babies too much when i first get them anyway <3
 
Mine are all fine with music, I don't play it loudly near the cages but I listen to mainly metal and they are fine with it :)

They will be eternally thankful for that haha :))

My piggies don't show any interest in what I have on. There is a youtube channel that I watch sometimes called DibbersPage - they like his intro and outro?!? It does have whistling and that might be why. My gerbils love Megadeth!
 
My lads are pretty happy with music of reasonable volume. Angus loves it and it chills him out totally, he will just sit and stare at the speakers or slob out on the floor and listen. I listen to mainly metal as well and have had pigs in the past that loved particular bands, popcorning round when certain things came on.....

As long as you are careful to notice what they don't like then you should be fine. Ours don't like rattling aerosol cans and the phone. Nothing else much is a problem.
