Piggies and Pine

I’m thinking of getting the boys an ikea dolls bed. But I’ve seen they are made out of pine. Will this be ok for the piggies? I know quite a few people on here have them but I want to be sure as I didn’t think piggies could have pine bedding. Many thanks ❤️

Lots of guinea pigs live on pine shavings so I don't think it would hurt them if they had a bit of a nibble. The legs of Bertie's hammock are pine, he's taken some chunks off of them and suffered no ill effects.
 
I really like them but I've bought so much over the years mine won't use I refuse to try anything else. I have a cupboard full of beds etc waiting for a piggy that will get in or on them!
 
I managed to get a couple of second hand ikea dolls beds, H &H took months to decide it was ok to use them! They were great when I made a massive playpen on the floor. The boys enjoyed being on top of them & head butting the base board from underneath.


Now our boys live separately I haven’t had them out for ages….. they take up quite a bit of room & I have to place them carefully to prevent any pig getting ideas about exploring over the grids.

Yes they are quite big. I just love the look of them. My boys have never jumped onto anything so I’m not sure they’d figure it out. I’m sure some coriander would come into play as a bribe.
