Oh its been awful today with the rain

my piggies live outside 3 cages are under the carport which is fine but the other one is not under the carport

i put old cartains over the cages for at night and when its really really cold holly and meggie whos cage is under the carport have 5 lears of cartains over there cage some are thick and some are fine there are all soaking wet i have took them off put 3 dry ones and then put the wet ones back on top to keep them warm and dry

ive put them to bed allready there speent all day in the bedroom tigther only came out for tea and gone back there dont like the rain when there cage was under the carport there use to speed all day in the bedroom when it was raining too there got nice big fat tummys to keep them wram laods of hay and food and some water

i have had my max out today who lives on his own he looks so unhappy sat in the back of his cage in a little coner hiding he hates the rain he loves i mena loves to be out in the gradan the only time he sat at the frount today was when it was tea time

on the other hand my ruby looked rather happeir than useally today

mine are all sitting looking depressed and I cant blame them, ive shoved heaps of hay in the outside ones and covered them up with thick plastic and the inside ones in the shed have had heaps of hay in there too,the grass is getting so long and it must be torture for them to see what they cant have unless theyve got lil boats

Ive brought all mine in as its sooo windy here, I put 2 pairs of piggies in their out door playpens which are huge and got a massive 20ft tarp to cover them and it was half way down the next field with in 10 minutes! So their back indoors and ive made them some cookies for tea!
How sad am I! I just wish this weather would stop so they can enjoy running around again they dont look so happy in their indoor enclosures. :(

awww mine are ok they have now been moved into the new shed and they are happily chatting and running about their cages, I think
they are glad not to be out in that awful weather it is soooooo windy. Hannah have you thought about getting some tarp to go over the top, you can get it in the pound shop and local diy stores.

what is tarp ?
i did use to have some plactic stuff on but it got all raippes and had to be thorw away

i dont think there cold there didnt feel cold when i touched them

i have put all the 8 cartains around the cage and bot hsides so no wind will get in and i have out the black wheel bin and the 4 white plsatci gradan chairs there so the catins wont blow up and there have tons of hay

Mine are fine, have been covered up with thick plastic and have a load of hay too. It hasn't been that cold though.

It isnt cold here - just very very wet :( Squeak wants out bless.. what we need is piggie umberellas that attach to them somehow and then as they run around it covers all their little bodies so they can play out and not get wet O0 O0

It's very cold here. My lot have loved going out lately, but just far too cold and wet right now :( Rain also stops work on the shed being done too :(

But all nice and warm indoors and currently being cleaned out :)

mine are all safe and sound in their sheds with double hay to keep them warm I did think about their heaters but thought better of it, its quite nippy now I hope all your outdoor piggys are safe and warm and dry

Mine are in the shed too, even managed to get some grass for them and dry it out today :) They don't take any notice of what the weather's doing outside, but then fireworks don't affect the majority of them either ::) No heater, just piles of hay to munch on :)

I use pond liner - very thick.I fix carpet under the pond liner to keep warmth in and wet out, attaching a piece of wood to the bottom to weight it down! If the curtains/carpet are wet it may make the hutch cold and damp!

Tarp is waterproof material which people use to cover things like camping trailers.

We bought some from Homebase, it was like 3 or 4 quid for a massive bit which surrounds the whole cage (and its a massive cage) and we cover them up at night with it for extra protection.

When its raining, we use bits of wood and make them stick out above the run and cover them with the tarp to act as a hood. It keeps the rain off the girls but gives them daylight and a chance to take in the scenery if they so wish..

To be honest they all hang out in the bedroom lol
