So my OH and myself took our girlies camping. Funny story I tell you.

We get to the lake on thursday evening and place there little pigpen out and place them in. In the meantime, my mom and dad are laughing because Oreo and the dogs are wanting to play (Apparently Oreo likes to hitch a ride on a 4lb shih tzu's back haha) Bugs is just wanting to be by herself. We got everything unloaded and placed them in their leashes and harnesses. Took them for a small walk and believe it or not, they walk like a dog (I have them trained to walk on a leash.... well at least following us around when its on them)

That night we placed them in the camper in their hamper with the dogs for the bon fire and made sure they were out of harms way.

The next day they were in their pen when all of a sudden my grandma shows up and laughs because they think she brought some homegrown lettuce haha. Nick, one of my parent's friends shows up and comments on how its insane to have them on leashes (we take them out for a bit as the ground is all grass) I do always check them for bugs and ticks so they are fine.

My mom had to laugh because those two would not stop talking and Oreo wouldn't stop purring (while grooming) then got going on how well behaved they are. My youngest brother Daniel was just in heaven to have his buddies with him. Bugs was so shy when we introduced him to her and Oreo just climbed up to his shoulder and kissed him.

All in all the camping trip was a success (even though bath time and hair cut for Oreo came into play haha)

I've always wondered about taking our boys camping...

But we are tent types so not sure that's secure enough for them. I suppose if we were never off site it would be fine.

Any thoughts?!

Depends. Our girls were fine in the camper with water and food and the dogs.... Leaving them in the tent with food and water would not be good as it would the tent would get sweltering hot... However get a screen cover and place them in the screen cover with a pen and water and food and hay and you will be fine.

This is brilliant! Our pigs have never been outside, but we want to try. It has been far too hot this summer but maybe when it cools a little this fall. But CAMPING! That is a hoot!

Christina you said they'd had fun :))
awwwwwww trust Oreo & Bugs to think food was coming! x)
So glad it went all OK xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Oh they had a blast. Just being able to bounce around on the grass made their day. Apart from Daniel teasing them with bag rustling and weeing lots.

They cried though during the thunderstorms though which is sad but both slept that night inbetween us. We had a tiny mess from Bugs as she is still learning but the rest of the time they were in their hamper at night. They get very vocal in car so when we get the music playing they whistle along lol. Oh its fun. These guys are trained.... well bugs is somewhat trained (still a work in progress). Hard to do but it can be done depending on the piggie
