Have been wanting to let you all know about how are gorgeous new boys have been doing since we picked them up on Sunday.
Pretty shy at first, understandably. The first day they just seemed to stay in their houses. We almost completely left them to it for the first 2 days, except for replenishing food of course. They love the fresh stuff! Great appetites
Yesterday they were out a bit and about happy for us to be near the cage. They were quite intrigued by the kids being around playing but still darted to house if a bit Mike or I came to close.
This morning they were indifferent to us. Even when i changed their food bowl they didn't move away and were chattering happily. We were overjoyed at this and really loving having them here.
The best has been this evening. We have had them out having a good explore of the downstairs tonight. I cleaned out their cage and put a couple of extra interesting things in there and made it a bit more comfty. They were so chatty and not shy at all and having a real good play around. Timone likes to be held and stroked a bit more I think. Which is funny because he was the one who wouldnt even poke his head out for the first 48 hours. Pumba is more confident and doesnt dart away at all now but he doesnt seem to like being held quite so much just yet. Although I have to say they were both very calm and still sitting on the children's knees tonight, much more so than on mine.
They really seem like the best of friends. The way they chatter and interact with each other is so lovely to see.
I think they quite like us I would like to say thank you for the advice people on here gave, about leaving them be. I think giving them space to adjust has really helped them to feel secure. They are starting to feel part of the family already.
