This morning I did the usual check of the min/max thermometer and the temp had dropped to 2.6 degrees in the shed overnight - clear skies for stars last night so wasn't surprised! The piggies themselves were toasty as they were in the hutch in the shed with tons of hay, blanket over the door etc, but just wanted to see whether anyone else has had such a drop in temperature?

The only reason I have any any clue about low night temps is I sometimes get the telescope out so always wished for cold clear nights, but now I am kind of torn between that and making sure the pigs are warm enough lol! Been an eye opener since I bought this thermometer for the shed though :)

Oh that's pretty cool! I should get one also as my pigs are in the shed too. I've used fleece to cover parts which the cold might get through. I'm just waiting on my big order of cosies to come through!

I may get one for my piggy room inside, always a useful tool. I have noticed here in the north of England that it's dropping at night quite a lot now.

I bought this one from Amazon - was dubious as its so cheap but works great.
Its great as it measures humidity too - which so far has been spot on.
I would love to get one that can have a panel in the house with a sensor in the shed, but then I'd probably just keep waking up to nosy at it during the night - total piggie slave now. :)
