I have always taken great care to leave the boys in their hutch with the raincover on when it rains, but there was an unexpected downpour whilst I was out and the pigs were in the run. They do have a wooden house they can go in, but I was slightly concerned.

When I got home, I found that they were both sitting outside in the rain quite happily, munching the wet grass. Yes they were damp but they didn't seem to care!

I put them back in the hutch anyway but I wondered whether piggies actually like rain and I should leave them out regardless of the weather?

I would think it isn't too good for them to be getting wet if it is cold as well. But at the moment it is quite warm, so as long as it is not for prolonged periods, I wouldn't have thought the odd shower would do too much harm. They have got shelter which they could have used. Maybe others could post, but I would just be concerned about them getting cold and a bit damp, rather than just damp. x

Similar happened to me recently, I went to get them in from the run and they weren't happy at all. Much very indignant sqeaking!

I have had the occasional piggy that refused to come back in time and one that panicked and run off into the border during a thunder/hail storm, and none has ever come to harm at this time of the year.

all of mine are different when it comes to the rain, some are happy like yours to sit and carry in munching! others get restless and my tilly well you have never heard moaning like it,she mumbles and grumbles if she gets wet shes like and old lady! and shes only 5 and a half months old!

sorry that s not answering your question! haha i tend to get side tracked
i know you shouldnt leave them wet as they can get poorly, but i think on a very hot day a little pitter patter might be refreshing as long as they are dried off when they go back in to bed! x x
