piggies night vision? ie do they need some sort of light leaving on?

As it says on the tin i just wondered with the fact they only sleep for a few hours at a time whether they would need or want some kind of illumination for their night time jaunts?

Good question, I would love to know. My thinking is because they are such watchful creatures that maybe they can see well in the dark. Mine seem to have no trouble locating the water bottle at 2am or running around.

makes me think their eyesight is fine. Also I did leave a light on once for the boys and they went mad, they prefered to have the light off. :)
 
I've never been bothered about this. No matter where they are in the world or even their distant wild relatives... they all live in a world with day and night so it should make no difference to them at all when it gets dark and there's no need to worry about giving them light 24/7.

I used to wonder this but i've been down to Duke at all hours and popped the light on and he's out munching away so i think there night vision is fine O0
 
Apparently they have quite good eyesight although cannot judge distances or heights. I think mine prefer the dark as they always hide under towels, fleeces, blankets - anything they can!
 
I turned the light off last night and Flora and Fleur decided to have a conversation about Readigrass! ::) They seem more settled in the dark! ;D

mine sleep in my bedroom so when i go to sleep the light goes off :) but i dont go to sleep till 4am and it gets light at 6-7am ;D
