Here's a few pictures of our piggies. Please note we are touring caravanners and so are our piggies. They do have a small cage for holidays (as the caravan is a small house for us) and a fold out run which allows them the oppurtunity to try grass from around the UK.

Sunshine (Sept 2008 to Jan 2012) and Flower (Sept 2008 to Sept 2009) went to St Austell (Cornwall), Salisbury and Weymouth (Dorset).

The last photo we have of Flower a month before she passed away.

I shall be adding further photos of Flower Junior (Face colouring the same as flower but sides reversed), Moon, Star, and our newest arrivals Midnight and Twinkle.

Sunshine, Junior, Moon and Star went on to have caravan breaks at Clent, Weymouth (twice), Bridport, Isle of Wight (GP's on the ferry was mildly amusing and a child magnet), Norfolk Broads and Henley on Thames (twice).

This year we have planned Weymouth, Banbury and Frome so far.

I should also have mentioned that when out there is always someone in attendance as we know that the places we stay have birds of prey in their locality. The piggies stay inside the caravan at night and the outside run always has cover.

This year the run was opened out and connected to either end of a wind break (bottom securely fixed, Junior was an escape artist) with usual plastic igloos for shelter and golf umbrella for shade. I will attempt to add photo (when I can find it on hard drive).

Some piccys of the tribe past and present.

The tribe awaiting breakfast in their old travel cage - Sunshine, Star, Moon and Junior.

they are all so squeezable :) so gorgeous, and well travelled to.

What lucky piggies, I've always wanted mine to enjoy some of the lush grass of rural England, especially Welsh grass.
Thanks for treating us to such an unusual piggy lifestyle story. :)):)):
I love the idea! :(|)

What lovely piggies, can I ask where they go during the winter in the daytime? They look well loved and happy, just wondering

I take my piggies when we visit the in laws in Wales so they can have some lush Welsh grass

Our piggies are very much indoor piggies. We live right next to a nature reserve (actually a world heritage site) in Dudley West Midlands. This means we have not only urban foxes but also badgers that wander onto the estate. (A friend has border collies and they go ape when the badgers get into the garden.)

So we thought the best thing for piggies was to share our living room. So their body clocks are tuned to the soaps (the cross I have to bear for beng the only male in the house) etc.

I have pushed for a boar to balance things but I have been told it must be neutered as our girls would not leave it alone.

This means when they go on holiday they love the open air and will now sleep in carry boxes for any journey more than 30 minutes (upto 30 miniutes could mean the vets). The regular weymouth site is on a fruity farm so they get treated to strawberries.

They sound like extremely pampered piggies!

They look like a great little gang and a lot tidier and well mannered than my boys... Maybe we'll have to try taking them camping some time.

We discovered that the small cage we had initially for Sunshine and Flower, 3 foot by 2 foot actually fitted in the caravan on top of the cooker and sink area. I know this is not the suggested size for 4 piggies but as it is never for more than 2 weeks they actually seem to love it. A thick blanket is used to cover top and half the sides to prevent drafts at night.

er.. maybe he'd not leave them alone and then there'd be more pigglies ?/
Quite a few of our members have neuteured boys with girls and they find it a lovely balance x)

Thanks have enjoyed your pigtures and love hearing about how your pigglies love to travel x)

Lovely gang of pigs x) All very pretty

Of the gang in the last pic, we lost Sunshine end of Jan, 3 1/2 years old, turned out she had agressive cancer, tumour had ballooned to the size of a fist in a couple of weeks (was upset that I didnt spot and get early treatment), and then Junior a week ago age 2 1/2 (she was on baytril for an URI but just sudeenly went).

We now have Midnight and Twinkle (which it turns out is a crested GP).

Pics will be on soon, when the 2 little b&%^£$s slow down long enough.

I have a 13 year old daughter who abhors JLS and their ilk and was weaned on the likes of Jethro Tull, Janis Joplin, Yes etc hence her liking for Duffy and willingness to see Chris de Burgh and Status Quo.

I wont call her a modern hippy but she is very much into retro. lol

(oh by the way I just fall into the baby boomer category)

And the latest addition - Twinkle - added to the tribe 18 February 2012 to balance things after losing Junior.

I believe that Twinkle is a Crested GP but I think she must be a cross. Not sure about Midnight, I assume she is a mixture like Moon and Star.

Sounds like a good upbringing to me!

Thanks for sharing all your stories and pictures, its a fascinating life your piggies have!
