The husband and I are going on holiday tomorrow and the piggies are going to stay with a lovely lady who will look after them while we're gone. I met her a few weeks ago after searching for boarding online, and looked around her house where she boards and rescues piggies and bunnies - she was very friendly and caring (even when I told her it would be eight babies of varying ages as well as two lady-pigs!) and has even built an identical c&c setup for them all so they feel at home!

...But how will I cope without this little hairy herd for a whole week?! :(

I know what you mean. I really missed mine when I went away - and, whenever I went to a shop I was looking at the fresh veg before realising I didn't need to but any!
Mine went into boarding. It took me a while to find the right place . I got daily updates by text from the lady who boards mine !

What stunning guineas! My lovely parents have mine so I am very fortunate. They get spoilt rotten but i hate being away from them. Your boarding place sounds fantastic.

My mum was more than happy to look after Pixel and Widget, but then we found out they were both expecting mini-Pixels and mini-Widgets! 10 piggies is rather a lot more work than 2...!

Hope you have a lovely holiday. I am sure they will be well looked after and of course when you come back you will have that excitement that at the end of a fantastic holiday you get to come back to see your piggies. Having Pigs has banished the end of the holiday blues for me as I always look forward to returning to them.

Your piggies are really stunning  love the term 'hairy herd'

What a cute crowd and from what it sounds like, what a great place! I hope that you are not going to suffer from piggy withdrawal syndrome!

When are your little boys due for separation or are they are already separated?

My oldest boys (in the first pic) are already separated and there are two more boys in the littlest herd that will be three weeks old exactly on the day before we return. Already got withdrawal just thinking about not seeing them for a week!

I miss my piggies terribly when we go away but they have a simply fabulous time at the bunny and guinea pig hotel. The lady who owns it cares for them as if they were her own and I get pics and texts if I want updates. She seems to enjoy my quirky piggies as much as I do and tells me about their antics when I get back. Like @sport_billy says having the piggies to come back to beats the end of holiday blues.

We haven't had a holiday of more than 3 days since we got piggies 3 years ago. Don't mind really but now that we help out at Bunny Burrows rescue we've found that they also do boarding so if we ever want a longer break we have somewhere special to leave them.

Awwwhhh they've all gone :bye: The lady who's looking after them had built a lovely big c&c in her spare room, with an adjacent pre-formed (massive!) cage for the bigger boys. When I left the boys were hiding but the mummies and tiny-pigs were having a whale of a time squeaking around under a MASSIVE pile of hay

Have a nice holiday piggies! xx

Omg they are gorgeous! I hate leaving mine :( Luckily my vet now looks after them for me so I know they are in the safest hands possible :) I still miss them like crazy & worry every day though lol :)

Have a great holiday. It sounds like your piggies are going to have an enjoyable holiday as well. :) Your pigs are all gorgeous.

I know I'm very lucky that I'm close enough to take my pigs down to my parents for Mum to look after. I got text updates on a regular basis about my previous pairs (rip) and how much they were managing to eat!

Aww what gorgeous piggies you have!

My parents look after mine as I live at home with the parents, so instead of me doing everything mum just takes over for me. :)
I also leave strict instructions, money and the sites to buy their hay from if I run out. I very rarely go out though so I've only had to do this once.

Well I am thoroughly impressed with my boarding lady, she has looked after my little herd impeccably :luv: So pleased to have them home, munching and squeaking and rumbling away!
