Well yesterday I got a piggy and named her MoMo and I went back the same person to get the other(Mom's friend had some Guinea pigs that she wanted to give away). I didn't separate them because they were together yesterday with some other piggues. The other is Yuki

Yuki is a tad bit bigger than Momo and her fat self is eating hay from the rack rn but she seems to be follow Momo or run to Momo when she scared. As I was writing this Momo was testing for dominance with Yuki. I thought the poor girl was getting beat up at first

I can't get either of them eat veggies though? I keep trying twice a day but neither care. Should I try some sweeter fruits? Like Banana? I also have green beans and brocoli. I've tried spinach and carrots so far. Should I try asparagus?

Both have healthy poops, are eating hay and pellets, their pee is looking good. I checked their fur for fleas, flaky skin, and etc as I do reg with my cat especially since she had an early infestation of fleas I caught a month before this. They're running around and popcorning. So it's not an illness right?

I'm sorry I keep making threads. I do google but I just like to hear LOTS of opinions old and new for things.

Guinea pigs are prey animals and so at the moment you're the big bad predator, and they're scared of you. They need time to settle down.

This applies to food too. They can take a while before they're willing to try anything new.

Give them a small variety of veg, you can ask their previous owners what they liked, each day and leave them to it. Remove it if they haven't eaten it and try again the next day.

One of my boys was from a rescue and he would only eat carrot for about a month. I have him a selection every day but it was only the carrot he tried. Eventually he tried the rest and loved them. Just be persistent, they'll try it eventually.

I only drop the food or put in there when I need to give them more hay.

But the good news is MoMo ate some spinach but maybe Yuki too? I saw some spinach eaten and I dropped a few carrots and I believe I got some nibbles so it's progressing.

Mine took ages to try anything new. Then one day they just started eating veg and haven't stopped since! I found cutting it up small helped.
