I found out tonight that Stevie does not like toes that are not coverd by socks. She bit my big toe tonight for no reason. Does anyone else have this problem?
She's probably just investigating Piggies are a bit like babies in that regard, they tend to check out new things with both their nose and mouth. They don't have great eyesight so these senses are more reliable for them. She won't have meant you any harm she just wanted to know what your toes were!
Check out this thread for more information on why pigs use their teeth in various circumstances.... Biting
I have a cockatoo who attacks feet.. although that's slightly different as a cockatoo beak is shaped to be able to carve out flesh.. so that hurt! ive never really put my feet near my pigs tbh but I don't thing feet bother them x
My girls nibble at my feet often. I have to climb into the shed (which they have free range of the floor) to feed them. They often nibble and tug at my feet with impatience. They only do it just before they know its veggie time.
She purred today...i never thought I would get so excited about these things. It's like having a new baby with all these firsts...mostly in just happy because I know this means she is getting comfortable with us.
