One of our poor piggies got attacked by a cat yesterday - Their run door wasn't closed properly - We brought him in but he died shortly after that, my children are devasted. He is getting buried later but what i'm wondering about is, should we let out other piggy see that his mate has passed away? Anyone any views on this?

So sorry for your loss, especially under such circumstances.
I have always let my surviving piggies see a dead cagemate.
Sometimes they are ignored, sometimes there's some sniffing or licking.
How badly injured was your piggy?

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’ve always let my piggies see the body of a cage mate who has passed. It helps them understand what has gone on. The link about caring for a bereaved pig is full of good advice.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Like the others, I let my remaining piggies to see their mate who passed away. I allow them to sniff and sit beside them for a few seconds and just see what they would do. Some just ignore it, some would snuggle a bit.

Hello oh such sad circumstances you join us.
Hope you getting help of this wonderful place.
RIP Little Piggie.

When we found him he had a very bad head injury and where going to take him to the vet but by the time i'd rang the vet and arranged for an emergency appointment to the on call vet he had passed away.
