So after a bit of a false start yesterday the girls and Edward came down to the bonding pen at 8AM this morning. It started off well with lots of munching of veg and hay, then there was a few little scuffles resulting in them having a short time out as it was all getting a little bit too much in the heat of the moment. Most of the problem was Edward was so excited and just wanted to mount the girls, the girls kept kicking him off and telling him NO! It reached a stage where if a girl came near him he would teeth chatter and back off, I think they frightened him, it did all calm down to the stage that the girls would come over and he would sit with them nicely.

As the negativity had ceased I decided to move them to the big cage to give them more space and let them sort their differences out.So far they have spent most of the time snoozing, and then when the girls woke up Edward just wanted to chase them.

The biggest part will be them sorting out the hierachy and hoping that it all stays calm.

Lol I like Edwards pink friend! It all went fantastically well. Great news!

Sounds good! They just need to work past Edward's excitement but that should settle down slowly over the ext few days and then only flare up when the girls come into season. Living with girls is 90% frustration for little randy boys... but they usually get used to being told off most of the time!

I agree it sounds good and Edward's behaviour is very similar to Barley's, he would chatter if the girls got annoyed with him, especially Ellie and Jess. He was the same when we tried to introduce Millie Moo too but that went further and they did flying lunges at each other, so we separated. Think that was just a clash of personalities though. Yours sounds promising.

Mrs. Ratty seems to be dissipating some of the tension, and they are definitely past the just friends stage. When the girls say NO! she doesn't ;)

Edward likes Mrs. Ratty too. Very much so ;)

Aw yay...Happy Piggies! Love that last pic of them all together (and i love Mrs. Ratty also ;) ) Well done piggies and well done mummy! :D

It's still a working progress. They have been separated overnight after some bickering earlier on, we're going to take it from where we left off tomorrow. x

Awwwww x) Great pictures Klee. Loving Mr Edwards Chookie leg!

Generally doing ok. Just the odd nark when ome or other gets too close. A lot calmer than yesterday.

Sounds like its going really well then :)

That's great, sounds fab. Are they at a stage where you feel ok leaving them together over night or separating again? x :)

I think I will leave them together, but I'm a nervous wreck! There hasn't been anything major today and I ave been sat with them 9-4, have been up and down since 4 and they have been OK.

Aw sounds like they should be fine, they have been together all day and nothing Major...but i can understand how you feel...i think i would be the same :P With lots of distractions and plenty of food and space, am sure they will all be fine and you will find them fast asleep together (or near each other) in the morning :)

All pigs are alive and limbs attached this morning-thank god. Woke up and Edward was popcorning round the cage. Still quite tense between him and Ruby (cowbag) at times, with a bit of chasing and some stand offs but most of the time it is just him chattering not both of them.
