I've just been away with my three boars, T, aged 4 and C aged 4 live together and B, aged almost 2 who is wild for rumblestrutting and has a very lively personality! He's certainly not a wallflower. He even rumblestrutts me sometimes! He's always been outgoing and spirited since he was a tiny baby.

The other two, one is quiet and quite reserved and the other used to be a live wire, here, there and everywhere all at once, but has really settled in his older years and is a real softy.

I put them in a c&c set up with the two boys being right beside the other boy. There was plenty of runblestrutting and egos getting in the way, but mostly it was pleasant.

Since we got back, the incredibly lively boy, B has been chewing on the bars of his C&C whenever he notices the other boys pottering about, which is all the time and it's driving me insane! It's so loud I can hear it downstairs and they live upstairs. I'm frightened the neighbours will hear it. He's also waking me up. I've put a towel up before now but he angrily tore it down! He used to live with C, but after one of our herd died, they fought, and so I moved C in with bereaved T, and despite being the same age, they get along beautifully, but B. Gosh, he's a force to be reckoned with!

I know B is very lonely despite living right next to the other two boys, so I have a baby in quarantine (exciting!). B and his wild personality is making me extremely anxious about the time when it comes with bonding them. I've done many, many boar bondings in my lifetime, even a trio to great success, but B is another level! He's a rex and a great big chunk and I'm frightened he will hurt baby. He does have a beautiful, soft side, and sat beside me most of earlier this evening watching tv and giving me kisses and nibbling my hands!

Any tips on bonding this lively chunky monkey and the new baby please? Thank you!

The first important thing to mention is that if the baby is under four months of age, you must not have him in quarantine.
Babies are desperate for and in need of immediate companionship so you don’t quarantine and instead you must do the bonding involving a baby on the same day that you bring the baby home.
Once bonded, and if you have other pairs of piggies, you can then put the newly bonded adult/baby pair in quarantine in a separate room together so as to not have them in the same room as any other piggies, but you don’t quarantine the baby alone

There is a section in this guide explaining

Rescues (Adoption and Dating), Shops, Breeders or Online? - What to consider when getting guinea pigs

Your boy is bar biting due to the changes in environments that they have just been through.

You carry out the bonding the same way as any other.
He won’t hurt the baby, but as with any bond, the success of it comes down to them having compatibility. Other then ensuring you do the neutral territory bonding process properly, there isn’t anything you can do about him being an exuberant character

Keep us posted on how it goes

Thanks so much. I'll get on with them bonding! Baby is becoming quite a character himself. Already coming out of his hidey when I take food and hay in! He'll be glad to meet his brother to have adventures!

Good luck. I recently bonded a baby to a piggy that wouldn't bond with the 4 others we tried. The baby bonding went very well, no problems at all. Hope you have it is as easy.
