Just wondering how many hours a week people spend on their piggy chores ?

If you only include the actual care ie; feeding, cleaning, bathing, medicating etc not all the cuddling and playtime I was rather alarmed to discover I spend on average approx 30 - 35 hours a week !

I know I have around 30 pigs and 10 bunnies and I do it because I love them but even so.......if I was paid minimum wage.............:{

I spend about half an hour in the morning spot cleaning, topping up hay/feed, checking the piggies over and feeding veggies.

Then in the evening, I reckon I spend about 45 minutes cleaning out, washing bowls, giving veggies, changing hay, feed and water, and about another half hour or so having cuddles...but that's while I'm sat in front of the telly, so I don't count that, lol!

Oh, and I take about 15 minutes just before bedtime, weighing and preparing the veggies for the next day.

Feeding: 10 mins morning. Feeding: 15 mins evening.
Cleaning: 1 hour (but thats usually cause i get sooo distracted!)

Bathing once a month :))

I've got 2 boys, and I think I only spend about 20minutes every day doing the chores! That makes me sound so neglectful :red I manage to change their bedding, rinse their biscuit bowl and feed them veggies, all in 15minutes in the morning...then in the evening I give them a second lot of veggies and check their hay and biscuit levels. I am not counting cuddle time, but that would be when I give them a check over and I inspect their fur etc. They also get garden time a few times a week, when I sit in the garden watching over them and they do some lawn mowing for me! :))

Bathing is every 3-4 weeks...depending how stinky they get! I try to avoid doing it too much...but they are boars...!

In the mornings and evenings, I spend maybe 20 minutes feeding and giving water and hay, and maybe doing a bit of cleaning, or whatever. And do a herd check, just make sure they're all ok :) But that includes checking all my animals, not just piggies

Then I usually go out a few times a day for different lengths of time, depending how much spare time I have. Sometimes just for 10 minutes at a time, and sometimes for a couple of hours. I'd just be spending time with my dogs and cats but also giving the guinea pigs and rabbits attention.

I do a proper clean about once a week, or whenever needed, and have never timed it but maybe an hour.

I do veggy prep and feeding in the morning which is probably 10-15 minutes each day. In the evening I sweep all the hay and mess out, change the water, top up the dried food and put fresh hay in, that takes about 1/2 hour if I don't stop for cuddles and if Bob doesn't get under my feet or try to eat the brush whilst sitting in the dust pan. :))
Every three days I change all the fleece, towels etc as well, brush and shake it all off before it goes in the washing machine and disinfect the bowls, bottles and cages while the pigs are in the garden or in their carry boxes. This takes 1 1/2 hours if I get a move on, usually nearer 2 hours to do the four cages. I also weigh them once a week during this time and trim nails if needed. Bob has a bath every month because he's long haired, the others when they need it. Bob's very well behaved in the bath so that only takes about 1/2 hour including his cut and blow dry. :))

Cleaning morning and night approx. 15 minutes each time, every couple of days this is more cause i need to do more thorough clean out. Every saturday an hour - hour and a half TOTAL clean out!

so that equals weekly 5 1/2 - 6hrs for cleaning

Food erm about 5-10 mins in the morning, it's only a snack for them, plus a handful of grass. Night time is their full feed time when they get their veggies, that would take around the 15mins or so to prepare. and then afternoons when i get home they get a little green leafy treat, about 5 minutes.

so that equals weekly 3hrs feeding

LOL i didn't realise i spent that much time with the essentials :))
ahhhhhhhhhhhhh and i LOVE IT x)
