i give my piggy cucumber/curly kale/ carrot/ red pepper/ corn/ brocoli

i give him veggy everyday. but his got belly upset cus i feed him to much greens? what else can i add to his diet to make it better

Mine love apples, bannanas and grapes, my vet said i sould try kiwi cause its high in vit c but mine dont seem to like it :smitten:

Mine love cherry tomatoes - but again don't give them too much as it can give them sores around the mouth. They love melon and banana - mine don't really like apples but you can given them them.

my vet in oz and maryh's vet in surrey UK both agree that guinea pigs get to much carbos in the way of veggies. in the wild if they came across a parsley growing the whole herd would swarm to it and at most each piggy would get a mouthful. both vets agree to feed piggies hay, straw, grass, pellets, and vitamin C supplement and the odd veg 2-4 times a week. this has worked wonders on zoe, who after antibiotics and surgery her poops were soft and nothing would work. from what they have said fruit and veggies should be only for treats. good luck with your piggy, i know how frustrating soft poops can be. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Sorry? STRAW ? WTF? 98)

Am I wrong here but I have always read and been advised to never put any straw (or anything made of straw) in the piggies' cages or environment? 98)

have found many websites that say straw can be used as bedding. then to be fair have found just as many that say straw is no good. my girls like eating it when we can get it and so far (touching wood) it has done then no harm and in fact helps to keep their teeth down as (again touching wood) never had teeth problems with my piggies. i think it is up to the individual as far as straw goes. O0

i dont really think well, fit piggies should get vit c supplements, they should get it from veg and fruit which i think should be given atleast once a day :)
