I've just noticed that one of my girls has a dirtyish rear end area. But I can't get a good look at it and she thinks I'm going to eat her.

She's eating fine and all.

But I was just wondering if it could be from there hay trays as they like to pee and poo on them when they eat. She's long haird at the back end aswell.

What are my options? I'd like to avoid stressing her out if possible

Could you trim her hair then give her a wipe down to see if you can clean her up? Or a bum bath if necessary.

Looks like I'll have to try and do that unfortunately

That's the best I can get. We need a longer tunnel to fit her in. She began to teeth chatter. And was getting stressed.

But it didn't look too bad. There is abit of hair that matted.

She looks like my Betsy from the back. I give her a bum bath while her head end is wrapped in a towel and she is resting on my arm. She hates it but it's necessary. Then after a thorough towel dry I plonk her (sorry place her very gently) on a piece of newspaper on top of the ironing board. Occupy her head end with some yummy treats (usually kale as she doesn't get it very often and just wolfs it down) and get to work with a pair of scissors at the other end. I have to chatter away to her constantly as she tends to be a bit nippy if she doesn't understand what is going on as she is nearly blind with cataracts.

Looks like she could do with a bit of a trim and a bum bath. Very common with long haired piggies. They pee on their “skirt” then drag it through hay and all sorts!

Ah OK. I'll have to do my best to sort it out.

Thanks

May just be worth giving her a short cut round her rear end to save you having to stress he doing it too often. Sounds like a 2 person job to me if you’ve got someone to help you x

My GF is nervous about holding them. And she wouldn't be any good with cutting her hair. She would be scared of hurting her.

I'll think of something.
