hi,

I'm really worried bout one of my pigs, I'm usually very careful with them makin sure there is nothin for them to eat or chew on but today my pig got hold of half of a small plastic ziptie, she eat it really fast but I'm worried she isnt going to be able to digest it and dont know what to do? iv been keeping an eye on her and she is still eatin n seems fine but should i take her to the vets?
I'm worried because at this time in my life i couldnt afford any big vets bills or operations but she means the world to me!

hi i might be wrong but piggies chew really well so the pieces are **** to small to cause any damage i would just monitor her as long as its non toxic then i wouldnt worry to much x

i wouldnt worry too much - Scruffy ate through my rubber style phone cover last year, he ate loads! i didnt mean for him to, but i left him wandering and he found it and had a feast!

He was fine. They are tougher than you think - if you notice any strange behaviour or trouble eating/not eating, then maybe consider taking her to the vets, but i think she'll be fine!

I've got a lady with a PASSION for plastic and KNACK of finding even the smallest scrap before me! She's five and still fine...

Keep an eye on them, but mostly they are OK even after a what you think must be a deadly portion...

I wouldn't be too worried. Keep an eye on her but I'm sure she will be fine. My piggies eat anything in sight and annoyingly really enjoy the bin bags I use to clean out their cage.

Tanks for all your replies. i feel much more reassured now lol!
Iwill keep an eye on her over the next week and take her to the vt if she has any problems
