Hey guys! I can't believe it's been over a year since I last posted on here (I feel like such a traitor!), but I remember how lovely everyone here is so I came back and wanna talk about piggies.
I was gonna give you a lil update on Lunar and Winnie, and then we can all share a few facts about our gorgeous little floofs below!
Lumi is doing great, we celebrated her and Winnie's birthday in August with hay cakes (I can attach a recipe below if you guys want!), as their birthdays are 2 days apart. They are growing to be big and strong little girlies, but still feisty as ever and not the keenest on cuddles! (Any tips for that by the way?)
What about you all?

Welcome back. Lovely to hear from you. This past year Pepper has had a tooth root abscess which took months to resolve. Percy had a bladder stone and he unfortunately didn’t recover from the anaesthetic. So we got Pebble as a friend for Pepper.

Post some pictures of your girls for us to drool over.

I'm so sorry to hear about Percy. He is flying high with all the piggy gods :) Your pigs are the most gorgeous little things, they're so cute! I will hunt around for some pictures now!

Hi, welcome back. I've been on here around 3 months since we got 2 girls named Willow and Blossom. They're around 6 months old.

Blossom is long haired, really chilled and loves a cuddle (for 10 mins or so) and a chin rub.

Willow is a short haired smooth (I think) she's really inquisitive and quite naughty 😂 but she's got a huge personality, she doesn't tolerate cuddles much but will sit and let you give her a chin rub for ageeeees.IMG_20230512_080208.webp

Here are a couple of Winnie! Unfortunately, Lulu isn't the biggest hugger, and I can't find many pictures of her, as I lost my photos when I got a new phone, however I do have an Instagram account for the girls and Lunar is very much featured there! You can check it out if you like! It's lunarandwinnie.piggies :D Snapchat-1090644334.webp

How sweet! Blossom has the most beautiful fur! And you can never go wrong with a good chin rub!

I'm going to need to trim her soon, or she will start tripping on it. 😂
Haha I understand that! Winnie has pretty long hair, so I usually have to cut her bum fur otherwise it gets very matted 🤭 I also cut their nails today, it went fine but they were very over-dramatic about it!

Lovely to see you back and catch up on your gorgeous piggies.

My herd has had some changes in the last year.
I lost both Phoebe and Priscilla to cancer but acquired 2 older girls from Merrypigs rescue as companions for Micah who continues to thrive.

Ruth and Naomi are lovely characters.

Ooh I'd be interested in the Hay Cake Recipe! Sylvia's (estimated) third birthday was on May 1, and I know she'd love a belated hay birthday cake to go with the carrot cottage she got :)

Of course! So what I usually do, is I use all the crushed-up hay at the bottom of the bag (around 1/2 cup / 4 tbsp), so it doesn't go to waste, or you can blend some up, it's up to you. Then I get a handful or two of ground pellets and a mashed banana, and you can mush it all together to make little balls. You can also add carrots or berries but your pigs will probably be happy with just the simple stuff, they don't need gourmet food! Not too big, as your pigs won't be able to gnaw on them, but not too little, as they like to have something to nibble on over a longer period of time. Then preheat the oven to 180 C (350 F) and pop them in for around 25 minutes. Then you can turn off the oven but leave the treats in for at least 3 hours so they don't go all soggy and floppy. Then you're ready to give them to your pigs! Only feed them 1 each per day as they are very sugary! Hope this helps :D

Welcome back! Our little herd of two has been good over the past year. Leela is now 6+ and still with us despite her vet believing she didn't have long to live last summer (the vet has since concluded that she likely had a benign ovarian mass rather than a malignant ovarian mass.) She is a little old lady but still feisty and enjoying her treats! And Tomie is turning 2 next month and continues to be a big bundle of energy!

Here's a pic... Tomie is the dark one and Leela is the light one!

Thank you.
Great way of using up the scraps of hay.

That is too cute! Leela sounds like such a little fighter, my girls turn 2 in August. That picture is amazing!
