Okay so here’s the story,
I got my piggy bailey out to cuddle because I just needed some comfort, when I put her back she happily trotted over to her favorite hide and laid
down, earlier I had noticed what sounded almost like whimpering from her cage, so I decided to make a little bed next to her cage and lay down next to her. The way I was laying was in the spot where her back was facing me, I decided to get up because she had peed without whining, as I went to lift up her hide to clean her poop (like I always do) she darted off she ran laps around her cage and was running into the sides, she ran right through her hay bale and hit her face multiple times, I was freaking out! I kept calling her name but she finally hid behind her hay bag. I proceeded to clean up her poop and but a new fleece pad down because her other one was soiled, I put her hide back down and she made another lap before sprinting into her hide. At this point I was freaking out and started crying because I had a feeling I spooked her, I ran upstairs and cut her some veggies as well some for the others😉and she was very hesitant to take them. I then slowly reached my hand near her face and let her take the lettuce, I scooted her hide closer to me and she froze. I tried to put the veggies in her mouth but she continued to stay frozen. I had no idea what to do so I put in some soothing music, that seemed to calm her nerves enough for her to eat her veggies, I’m scared to mess with her, but I want to check on her so bad! I moved some hay closer to her hide so she could at least eat, she hasn’t come out yet but was eating some hay, I’m beginning to get really scared, is this normal. I’m scared somethings up she’s still ate though can any body help me😖

Hi!

When a piggy freaks out for some unknown reason, the best thing is to leave it be and not interfere while its instincts are on high alert as any interference will only reinforce the alarm signals.
Alternatively hold it and its companion for a snuggle up under your pullover/t-shirt until it calms down and falls asleep. In this case, you have to brace yourself for being peed on sooner or later. The more the companion can help to calm a freaky piggy out, the better.
