hi,

My oldiest Pat is still not keeping well. Its been 2 weeks since her operation on her mouth (she got her teeth cut) and I have not really noticed her eating more. We have started to try and syringe feed her and puree her food up. She has taken some and then will not go near it again. What really worries me is she is shaking/vibrating every time you touch or go near her.

I called the vet practise and spoke to the vet who told me that she was fine the week before I had to take her in for the operation. Anyways he said that we should bring her in and put her down. The thing is, I do not trust him.

Would appreciate some advice? Peggy and Sue are okay and leaving her be.

Hiya,

Welcome to the forum. Does this vibrating only occur when you touch her? I had a Sow like this who was very much hands off she is fine now. It could be that your little one has been through a lot yesterday and is a little frightened of being touched.

I would not get her put down. I have found putting pig on your knee wrapped in a blanket helps to offer them some security when syringe feeding. She does sound frightened to me but it all depends when she is vibrating, does she make a noise when she does it?

HI,

Thanks. She does it when you touch her and also when she is out sitting beside food. My last guinea pig vibrated alot just efore he went and thats why I phoned vet ut I really am doubting what they say as the guy sent us away and said put this in her water?

She is absolutely fine in the cage with peggy and sue so that makes me think she is frightened (or punishing me for putting her through the op)

xx
