Our little girl has fairly long hair and she sheds a lot. Could it be related to her food or is there some kind of soap or something that could help. I'm feeding her something from our local pet store but I can always get somethinhmg better if thats the problem. Any help would be great.

If you are at all worried about her take her to the vet for a general health check. Only a vet can diagnose if there is anything amiss! It could be anything from natural hair loss and it just seems a lot cos she is long haired to mites. Loving the piccie btw the bit of carrot on her nose is just :luv:. What are you feeding her?
 
She has mad hair!
Does she eat plenty of hay ? That should be a piggy’s main food all day every day - at least 80% of her daily diet!
Fresh veg daily in small amounts - cucumber, peppers, small piece of carrots, lettuce other than iceberg to name a few.
Always fresh water and only small dish of pellets, no muesli.
Do you brush her hair and is that when you get it coming out?
I don’t tend to shampoo my piggies - only ever dip their bottoms in warm water if they happen to anything clinging to the butts!
As @ fizzy says have you noticed any signs of irritated skin or scratching and if so will need a Vet check to rule out mites or ringworm.
 
She eats mostly veggies and hay. She is fine in all other aspects. I want to get a brush but was looking for some recommendations.
 
This is the type of brush I have. It is called a Porcupine brush and I got it from The Range.

Betsy is still not a fan of being brushed but prefers this to the comb (which she absolutely hated!) being long haired, Betsy needs to be brushed most days and needs to visit the hair salon once every 6 weeks or so for a bum trim!
