Piggy Has A Fungal Infection

hi my piggy was diagnosed with a fungal infection on Monday, and now another patch on her head has appeared but it looks totally different to the other patch is this a bald patch she might have or something else as a new piggy owner I am clueless? thanks :)

could you please tell us what treatment you have been given for the fungal?

Fungal infections usually get worse before they get better as they need to run their due course, so any already affected areas can pop up, especially if you are only treating topically (i.e. on the infected spot).

My go to fungal treatment is a dip called Imaverol, which is non-prescription, gentle on the skin and very effective. You get it in a concentrated form and dilute it for use. As it is a dip you don't wash it off, so it continues to work between treatments, which are weekly for three weeks. I have had great success, and you treat the whole animal, so any undiscovered spots are treated too.

I agree with @Elwickcavies . I have found imaverol/enilconazole the most effective skin treatment for fungal piggies. It is at the same mild enough to use safely on young guinea pigs and in the sensitive areas next to eyes, mouth and ears, whereas most others are quite harsh in comparison.
I would strongly recommend to use not just on the spot treatment in order to prevent any more infected areas to come up.
