Piggy in pet shop with bad eye

Was in the local pet shop looking at their runs today and saw a piggy (rex, ginger and brown, gorgeous :smitten:) STILL in there, still on its own, however today I notice one of his eyes was smaller than the other and it wasn't last week . . . almost as if he was squinting. They've got a fan on directed at the cages (about 3' away), could this be the reason or does it sound like an infection? It wasn't watering or anything but didn't look right. I'll be keeping an eye, but not sure what I can do

Would love to buy the little piggy really but hubby says NO MORE :'(
 
would ure hubby not let u have him then try and find him a good home once u knew he was ok?
 
Was 2 piggies like that in the petshop where I got Misty and Sooty few months ago. The woman said I could take them for free because they were too old to sell but I really didn't have the room. She said I was to ask people if they wanted them but in the end someone else must of took them. She also gets in long hair piggies because they sell very well :tickedoff:
 
I would imagine if he has a fan blowing on him it has dried his eyes :'(
 
I'd tell the staff at the shop that he needs to see a vet! I had a piggy who had an eye infection which was left un-treated by his previous owner... I took him to the vet as soon as I got him, but his eye was past saving :'(

That's what seduction was invented for!......more piggies ...or do what I do....say "look what I found" and go all gooey eyed ;D ;D ;D

Id buy the piggy and after you bought him tell the shop owners straight :tickedoff: They need to learn and tell them your gonna report them if you ever see a piggy in the same state as that one again :D Theyll get scared then >:( Go and get him even if you cant keep him you can always rehome him on here O0
 
But if he has an infection it may spread to my other pigs? ?

I will definitely check him out tomorrow. Poor wee thing. :tickedoff:

Plus if it is a he, he won't be able to go in with my five sows will he lol! Seriously though, I have been thinking of this piggie a lot.
 
No I haven't been back today. Thing is, if no one gives him a home and his eye is bad what will the pet shop do with him? :-\
