My Wilbur was struggling to eat a couple of weeks ago so off we went to see Ellie. She said his teeth were in a bad way and he was in pain, so she did some dental work on him and we came home with Loxicom (which he absolutely loves), He is still struggling to eat but we go back to Matlock on Saturday. This evening I hand fed him with some cucumber but he has now started to make some grunting noises which I have never heard a piggy make before, and he is making jerking movements. I've tried to video him but he runs and hides. As I write this the noises are getting louder and I am now quite worried about him. Any ideas?

Hello. I hope Wilbur is ok today. I’d always get noisy breathing looked at by a vet. Just in case. They go downhill very fast.

Thanks everyone for asking about him. He is going to see Ellie. I've been crossing my fingers that I could get some critical care into him as every piggy I've had has put up such a fight that I end up wearing it. Wilbur is thankfully different, he must have been hungry as he stuck his face straight into the bowl. It seems he is still finding it difficult to bite his food, so hopefully she can take another look in his mouth. He's not a happy piggy right now bless him.

Wishing you all the best for Wilbur! Glad that he is still willing to eat.

Fingers crossed for his visit to see Ellie. Glad he likes the recovery food.

Wilbur has had his appointment with Ellie and he seems to have 2 problems :(:( His front teeth have overgrown in the 2 weeks since his last dental visit which was stopping him eating properly, but worse still, he has a lump on his jaw resulting from an infection in a back tooth going into his jawbone. We came away with anitbiotics and more loxicom. Fingers crossed this will sort it, otherwise, its a tricky op under general anaesthetic. Please send him healing vibes
