Earlier this year I adopted a long-haired rescue piggy who is absolutely gorgeous. I am based just outside of Salisbury in Wiltshire (UK) and was wondering if anyone knew of anyone who grooms guinea pigs either professionally or as a "hobby".

I would like to get Wallace washed and trimmed for the summer but am a bit reluctant to give it a go myself and would prefer to pay someone who is more confident in grooming guineas. Does anyone know of anyone who would be able to help me out? I am willing to travel to some extent. Thank you.

I guess a good starting place would be your local vet.
They may offer this service themselves, or at least know of someone who does.
Or a local rescue (use the rescue locator a the top of the page) would be experienced trimming and bathing piggies, so they might do it for a donation?
I know that @BossHogg recently had his piggy groomed, but not sure where/how he found out about this service, although he might have ideas on finding one a bit more local to you.

I enquired at my own vets practice and they informed me they had their own grooming parlour. Failing that check your local yellow pages and ring round the groomers to see if they do piggies. ;)

I am so, so sorry for the late reply! Thank you so much for your advice. I actually posted the same question at the same time on a guinea pig care Facebook page which just so happened to be run by a lady in Salisbury! She has long haired piggies herself so naturally I asked who groomed them for her. She told me that she did it herself and was more than happy to bath, trim and groom Wallace for me. :) Today Wallace had his pampering session and I must say I was very impressed. She was brilliant with my little man and put him at ease - I felt very relieved and confident that he was in capable hands. I am over the moon with his "new look"!... Before :hmm:... and after...:clap::yahoo:
