Junior Guinea Pig
I have three boars.
If it's up to 3 nights I'm away, my mother-in-law and father-in-law come round. They're fascinated by the boys, but really scared they might run out of the cage too. They're happy to feed them and change their water, but they wouldn't cope well with having to change their bedding while supervising three naughty piggies, one of whom is a skilled escapist, so more than three nights they start to get stinky and need a clean out, so they go to my mums.
She has them in a huge piggy pen which takes up most of her front room floor and although they are hard work, she loves their company and spoils them with a huge plate of nice fresh veggies at the same time each night. I do give them veggies daily, but I'm afraid due to my working hours, they don't always get them at the same time! They regularly spend a week there, and once a year they go for more than a fortnight.
If I didn't have them to help, I think I'd have to stop going away because I would worry so much about them at boarding facilities, even though most are probably lovely.
