Piggy Pellets

Thanks for the heads up :tu:

I know where I’m going tomorrow! :D :dri:

I use the normal science selective. I don't know much about grain free. What's the pros to grain free

Ooh might have to have a nose! Mine have JR Grainless and Versele Laga but a new treat nugget never hurts :D

Grain free has proven to be very beneficial in the animal world now. As many animals we keep would have rarely/never encountered things like wheat in the wild their bodies never developed to digest it so their organs have to work twice as hard to digest it and may not be able to get much (if anything) out of it as a food source.

Grain is used as a cheap filler, particularly wheat which is super cheap. They use it a lot in cat and dog food too which is the #1 cause of allergies and illness. Got all my animals on grain free now, I swear it saved my cats life and she's been sickness free for almost 2 years since I switched :)

Also I'm a bit of a loser, passionate about pet food :))

Just been to PAH and grabbed a couple of bags while still on offer so I can try them out with my boys. Never heard of grain free before but starting to think it might be worth a try. My boys are 5 years old now, so what to make sure they getting nutrients. Thanks for the tip :)

They've gone back up at my PAH, I looked yesterday. I usually get them for £3.99 on line at vetuk but they've just put the price up, I was too late again.

Oh dear, well if my piggies like them I better get back down to my local PAH and get more quickly then. I do like a good offer :))

Update.. the grain free science Selective pellets were a success!
I mixed a few in with their current pellets last night and they picked out and eat the new ones :)
I was actually a bit surprised they went down so well, after reading a few comments about piggies not liking grain free.
I also really liked that these pellets were quite small compared to some other brands.
So off to buy more while on offer!

That’s good, maybe I should try them.My girls tried to eat the rosewood grain free but struggled as they are so big.My boys wouldn’t touch them.

My girls have been eating the grain free science selective mixed with Versele Laga for a while. They have an occasional change to JR Farms grainless or one of the other grainless if they are on offer. We tried loads before settling on the selective and Versele Laga. They love them.

Here is a photo of the pellets next to a garden pea for comparison, so you can see just how small they are!
One of my boys has a dental issue so he prefers smaller morsels, otherwise he spits them back out at me!
