Hi I was just wandering if I could get some advice on this please! So last week one of my piggies I noticed had poos in a chain shape as seen in the first picture so I reduced the amount of dry food and increased watery veg and it started to normalise a bit so I went back to the normal food I give. Then this week I have noticed his poo to be wet as shown in the seccond pic. He is completely fine in himself and still is desperate for veg but wasn’t sure what to do about this in terms of their food as my other piggy is completely normal and there is not much of this softer poo in the cage each day.
Any advice would be great thanks!

Hi!

Please switch from weighing your piggy daily at the same time instead of weekly. Those poos look too thin and small which is usually an indication for not eating enough. since hay should make about 80% of the daily food intake, you cannot judge that by eye. The poo output lags about a day behind the intake; only you kitchen scales will give you the answer. Weighing is a vital part of health monitoring.

Please see a vet if at all possible; something is not right. Ideally you step in with top up feeding until you can see a vet and the meds are kicking in.
Here are our information guide re. weighing and how you can care for a piggy that is not well until you can be seen with what you have got to hand or easily available. Please take the time to read the links. It is important!
