Hiya
Our piggies absolutely poo for england. I know being regular is healthy but these piggies are ridiculous :D. Do we have very unusual piggies or is it normal for them to poo so much - it's just that I have never seen an animal do so much ;D

dont worry its normal i have 3 gunniepigs and the poo none stop but its all good O0 O0 O0 88) 88) 88)
 
my piggies eat most of their's 98) 98) 98) but they are constantly making jelly beans though zoe's look more like bullets. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: nothing to worry about. welcome to the forum from me and the girls from oz. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: girls send :-* :-* :-*
 
My herd's poo muse taste of chocolate beacuse they are always munching on it especially Twinkle! Why do they do it? Is it a vitamin deficincy? I give them a balanced diet to the best of my ability! ::)
 
There are 2 types of poops - one of which is partially digested (lovely!) called caecal pellets and these are the ones they reingest. Sometimes they'll eat normal ones too. Mine don't seem to do it very often any more except Bonnie who will eat them ALL when she is out of the cage - maybe she's just being tidy!

Interestingly, when Bonnie had surgery nearly 2 years ago she was on antibiotics and not only ate all her poops (was worried she wasn't pooping but watched her like a hawk and she was) but I noticed the cage was exceptionally clean. She was eating most of the others' poops too! The vet said it was a completely normal reaction - when they're in need of a specific nutrient they'll do this instinctually.
 
Just wait till the start licking up their pee when they are in the run! the joys of piggies. xx
 
Pippin never stops when she's out she will poo and poo and poo the other week we even counted how many there was and within half an hour she had done 52 poo's :o

1 or 2 of them may have been Tuckers but he doesn't seem to poo as much as her thinbk it's cause she never stops munching lol. ::)

She has resorted to sleeping by the food bowl now ;D

Piggie poo jewellery don't think I'd be inclinded to wear that :D
 
Mine poo loads and they do it everywhere! There isn't just one section of the cage they do it in - it is in every place, even in their wooden hut. They don't even mind lying in it. Some ladies I've got!
 
DSL - Kanika is like your Bonnie, she loves to keep herself clean when shes out of her cage. Whatever comes out its eatten, lol! She does pee on me though sometimes, lol!
Its called coprophagy, eatting of own faeces a lot of animals do it.
